The text-generator tools provided by Masterpiece Generator are very basic compared to ChatGPT and co, but are hugely entertaining and offer rich opportunities for immersive interactive language work in the English L2 classroom. In this workshop, we’ll explore what one of the tools does with user input, and then use our findings to tailor our input so the generated texts are more effective as creative writing – without sacrificing any of the hilarity. We’ll round off the workshop by discussing how our experiment can be translated into a classroom setting.
